NOCTUM Reveal Album Artwork and Track Listing for New Full-Length Album Final Sacrifice

Available October 29th on Metal Blade Records
Swedish rockers NOCTUM have confirmed an October 29th release date for their Metal Blade Records debut Final Sacrifice.  Today the artwork and track listing have been revealed. The cover art was painted by Timo Ketola (Sunn o))), Arktau Eos) and fits perfectly with the album's raw, natural sound.

In the town of Uppsala, Sweden in the year 2009 a band called Séance was formed.  Moving at breakneck speed the band formed in September, recorded a two-song demo after adding guitarist Per Wikström to the lineup in October, and by November had changed their name to NOCTUM. Within those three months, the band signed an LP deal with High-Roller Records, and a CD deal with Stormspell Records.

NOCTUM's debut album, The Séance, was released in September 2010 via High-Roller and in December by Stormspell. The band finally embarked on their first European tour in July of 2011, and followed that up with a new EP, The Fiddler.

By August of 2011, NOCTUM created enough buzz in the underground to gain the attention of Metal Blade Records, which led to a new worldwide record deal.

With a new record deal in place with a global label, NOCTUM spent the majority of 2012 refining their sound and writing new songs. Their search for original and interesting material led them to a heavier and darker sound. The progression came very naturally for the band and differs from the typical 70's vibe. The new material successfully evokes a heaviness and emotion one might not expect from a "retro" sounding band.

Noctum toured Europe again in 2012, and then welcomed the addition of drummer Fredrik Jansson after Gustaf's departure. Jansson, who spent time in Witchcraft, Count Raven, and Abramis Brama, was added to the lineup in time to record Final Sacrifice in April 2013.

Final Sacrifice is a fictional horror story where each song communicates a portion of the overall narrative. The "final sacrifice" is like a red thread that ties the songs together and is the concept behind the art. Final Sacrifice is an analog piece of art in both audio and visual aspects.

The track "Liberty in Death" can be previewed HERE.

Final Sacrifice Track Listing:
1. Conflagration
2. Liberty in Death
3. Resurrected in Evil
4. Deadly Connection
5. Void of Emptiness
6. The Revisit
7. A Burning Will
8. Temple of the Living Dead
9. Azoth

Still Awaiting My New Wheelchair

Got up nice and early today hoping that I'd be leaving my current 7-year old (or more) chair behind and coming home with my new wheels. But the universe had different ideas. And truth be told rockers I should've known it wouldn't be simple since this new chair has taken over a year to get done when it was supposed to be only a few months.
The one thing that seems to be constant is the government medical regulations have gotten crazy since unordered the chair I'm currently sitting in. I will hold my anti-Bush and anti-Obama remarks but its changes in regulations on their time in the White House that has caused problems for ALL who need customized wheelchairs for their disabilities needs.
The hold up from me bringing my new chair home today is basically features and customization that was written and submitted but was ignored because regulations say "if its not standard just do it standard and fix it later". This issue would be avoided if the company's who sell wheelchairs to those who need them be allowed to build the chairs so if something isn't right it can be fixed BEFORE the person needing that chair makes arrangements to go to the company in the hopes it is put together properly.
It may sound like simple moaning and groaning that I'm doing but when my current chair was ordered (during Clinton's Presidency) the company selling the chair to you built it. So if it came in and didn't match the write up then you weren't called to come get the chair or mold seating. Everything was fixed and then you were called. Customization was argued because medical needs are different for every disability.
But nowadays (and since G.W. Bush) you need to prove every little detail why you need said customization and hope the government doesn't consider it "not medically needed" even though you proved reasons why it is medically needed. And then there's the adding of in between services like paying a company to build the chair when the company selling the chair can and should do it since they know what the consumer needs and not what the government regulations thing they need.
So now I'm waiting once again as 3rd and 4th parties argue over why its needs to be the way I need it even though its in black and white on paper and as my disability requires. And it's a bit more annoying cause its just a matter changing arms of the chair, the back of the chair, and a few programming issues. All issues that would have been avoided if government regulations allowed the company's to build the chairs they are selling.
Hopefully it's only a few weeks until its ready and not months.
The plus side is I did see the chair and it looks awesome. If you thought my current chair looked badass wait until you see the new one.
Until then, gonna keep rockin and rollin through life like I always do and you should too.

GWAR Confirmed to Wreak Havoc Down Under at the 2014 Soundwave Festival

Fresh off their highly successful and best GWAR-B-Q yet, your lords and masters have announced that they will be conquering yet another festival.  That's right everyone's favorite Scumdogs GWAR will be returning to the land down under to wreak havoc and make sweet Kangaroo love with the locals.  The first show is Saturday February 22nd in Brisbane, followed by shows in Syndey, Melbourne and Adelaide before wrapping up Monday March 3rd in Perth.  A complete list of dates is below.

"Considering it was twice as big as last year's 2012 GWAR-B-Q and about eight times as slaughter-ific, your Lords and Masters, the mighty GWAR, are semi-satisfied, said lead singer Oderus Urungus, who was contacted at this Antarctican fortress.  "The sheer amount of carnage influcted...I mean I saw whole families just wiped out in the savage glee of the Pit of the GWAR-B-Q, willingly screaming as their bodies were pulped by our giant meat grinder.  Every drop of GWAR Beer and GWAR B-Q Sauce was consumed, and all the bands ruled! And loyal bohab Goldmember repeated as Spew-O-Lympic champion it was far and away the greatest GWAR-B-Q yet."

"Now on to our new album Battle Maximus, the new GWAR album, featuring the debut of new Scumdog Pustulus Maximus.  A new era of GWAR has begun.  Hail FLATTUS, Hail GWAR, tell all of your friends that missed the 2013 GWAR-B-Q that they fucked up!"

On coming playing the Soundwave Festival Oderus said:

"We can't wait to come back to Australia as part of the colossal Soundwave Festival.  Now if we could only figure out how to get there, if we swim, on Gor-Gor's back we should be able to decimate Asia nicely"

GWAR recently announced the first leg of their massive "Madness at the Core of Time" world tour, in support of their new album, Battle Maximus.  The tour, which features a completely brand-new show full of slavering creatures and deserving victims, is set to kick off October 2nd in Columbus, Ohio and runs through November 17th in Washington, DC.  GWAR shall be joined by deathcore heavyweights and label-mates Whitechapel, Richmond, VA thrashers Iron Reagan (featuring Municipal Waste singer Tony Foresta) and A Band of Orcs (who are actually a band of Orcs).

GWAR has teamed up with VICE to drop the next tasty morsel from Battle Maximus on your pointy little heads.  Head HERE, to read an exclusive interview with Oderus and to hear the premiere of the song "Bloodbath".

GWAR is set to release Battle Maximus their 13th studio album, and their first since legendary Scumdog Flattus Maximus returned to the stars to fulfill his cosmic destiny. The album will be available September 17th via Metal Blade Records.  Check out the first track, "Madness at the Core of Time" and pre-order your copy of Battle Maximus HERE.

GWAR's Battle Maximus features twelve brand new tracks that not only honor their departed ally, but tells the story of GWAR's latest struggle against what may be their greatest enemy yet...the insidious "Mr. Perfect", who has travelled through time itself to steal the power of GWAR--the power of immortality, and use this power to mutate the human race into his twisted vision of what the "perfect" human should be. Once again GWAR finds themselves as the only thing standing between the human race and the latest super-powered shithead bent on the destruction of GWAR and the enslavement of their worshippers.

A video for the song "My Confession" can be viewed HERE.

KAMELOT have held their own, very special position in the world of rock and heavy music: their elaborate melodic metal has always opened itself in a remarkably clever way to like-minded styles, integrating progressive elements as well as cross-references to doom/gothic metal and classical music, which have allowed their songs to define their own genre. Two of their most successful releases in particular, namely the albums Karma (2001) and The Black Halo (2005), are prime examples of KAMELOT's multi-layered approach, intensity and outstanding musicality. Silverthorn, sees the band raise this demanding standard even higher, because Silverthorn is a masterpiece of grand gestures, gritty melodies and haunting atmospheres.
