Death Division Is Just Starting to Live

I'm on the verge if what will be 4 years of being a DJ and during that time if heard bands that have come and gone while others I didn't get a chance to hear but blown up big resulting in me feeling dumb about missing them at their start. Then there are the bands that I hear and sense big things for, Death Division is that kind of band.

I first heard about Death Division from my friend and fellow DJ RadioJ, saying there was something about them. Then I got a song from them and was working on setting up an interview with their front man Sean de la Tour (click here to listen to that interview) when it was announced they'd be part of this years Gigantour.

Since that interview things have continued to go well for Death Division. Playing on Gigantour and releasing their debut EP "mmxiii" (click here to buy it on iTunes) to great reviews.

The bands line up of Sean de la Tour on Vocals & Guitar,  Rick DiMarco on Guitar, Jerry Montano (Hellyeah) on Bass, and Tim Yeung (Nile, Morbid Angel, Hate Eternal) on drums work together as if they've been playing together for years. Listening to their debut EP makes you forget that its a debut. The song "We Are The Fallen" is a great track that brings the fans and band together with its message of how no matter how often you are knocked down you just gotta keep going and keep fighting. Plus a song like "I've Had Enough" is something we've all said and been through in our lives so its another easily identifiable song between band and fans.

Death Division has recently left Gigantour to head back to LA to start pre-production on a full length album to be released in 2014. I am anxiously awaiting that as I can tell from just the EP that this is the beginning for them. If you saw them on Gigantour you know this, if you haven't pick up their EP "mmxiii" on iTunes and hear what we've heard.

REACH to Release Debut EP Patterns in Static August 13th

Artwork and Tracklisting Revealed
New Jersey, alt-rock outfit REACH is set to release it's first EP, Patterns in Static. Born out of the ashes of the progressive, Boy Meets Machine, this new band delivers a unique sonic assault.   REACH features vocalist/bassist, Joel Monet, lead guitarist, Christian Colabelli, rhythm guitarist, Steve Swain, and drummer, Joe Nivare.

Today the band has unveiled the artwork and tracklisting for Patterns in Static  The artwork was created by John Bryan of Revolution Dream.

Patterns in Static twists elements of metal, prog-rock, fusion, punk, and alternative with an unmistakable pop-sensibility. Songs like "yungPunx" and "Caveman" bludgeon the listener with punishing guitars, and bring forth an old school punk vibe laced with modern harmonic ideas.

Monet soars over a wall of sound to create infectious choruses throughout Patterns in Static.  Daniel Bernath, of the German metal band, Syqem was recruited to post-produce and mix "Pins and Needles," the most atmospheric song of the litter. Fans of Syqem will immediately recognize Bernath's deft touch.

Reach will be playing shows throughout the northeast in support of the release of "Patterns in Static."

Patterns in Static Tracklisting:
1.     yuNgPunX
2.     The Artificial
3.     Caveman
4.     Pins and Needles

Chicago Metal Legends TROUBLE Enter The Billboard Charts!

Chicago metal legends TROUBLE returned with their first album since 'Simple Mind Condition', released in 2007.  The album entitled The Distortion Field features 13 tracks and is available now on FRW Records in North America and in Europe on July 26th, 2013.

With their return album TROUBLE cracked two of Billboard's Charts this week.  The album came in at #125 on the Top Independent Albums Chart, and # 25 on the Top New Artist Albums Chart (Heatseekers) which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

Guitarist Rick Wartell could not be happier with the reception of the new album:

"It's an honor to receive the positive feedback, reviews and recognition. We're extremely grateful to our fans and everyone who supported us during the making of The Distortion Field."

The Distortion Field can be ordered on Amazon and iTunes

Decibel Magazine's "Deciblog" is streaming the songs "When The Sky Comes Down", "Sucker" and "Butterflies" HERE.

The Distortion Field makes history in the TROUBLE camp through the band's acquisition of a new lead vocalist, Kyle Thomas of Exorder and Floodgate fame.

Commenting on new vocalist Thomas, TROUBLE founder and guitarist Rick Wartell says, "Kyle is one of the most impressive singers I've ever heard, and by far the most extraodinary singer I've ever had the pleasure of working with.  He's got incredible range, incredible power, and an incredible knowledge of TROUBLE, as he's been a fan for 20-something years. We've known him forever, and he innately understands what TROUBLE is about.  He's like the perfect guy to come in and do this job. It's awesome."

Veteran Music Producer Bill Metoyer is once again lending his expertise, having previously worked with the band on 'The Skull' and 'Trouble', both Metal Blade releases.

The band consists of Kyle Thomas - vocals, Rick Wartell - guitar, Bruce Franklin - guitars, and Mark "Marko" Lira - drums.

Visit the band's website www.newtrouble.com for updates.
