Borgo Pass is the Next Inductee to the Bullspike Hall Of Fame

The next band to be inducted to the Bullspike Hall Of Fame is Long Island's own Borgo Pass.

They have been tearing up the Long Island music scene since the mid-90s proving that rock and metal lives and thrives outside of the major cities.  They manage to take modern day rock & metal and infuse it with the sounds of the 60s and 70s when rock and metal was just beginning to take over the world.  Hints of their biggest influence Black Sabbath plus hints of southern rock are found within each track.

The band's second self-produced album "Powered by Sludge", released in early 2000, was extremely well received by their ever growing legion of fans, creating a feeding frenzy of downloading on MP3.com.  And you can find their 2011 release "Deadwater" on iTunes so there's no reason to miss out on a band who has caught the attention and shared the stage with Alice Cooper, Biohazard, Kittie, Overkill and others.

They continue to represent the rock and metal scene in Long Island and it should only be a matter of time before they break out to bigger things.  So Borgo Pass will join the others in the inaugural 2012 Class of the Bullspike Hall Of Fame.

GUITARIST MARK TREMONTI TO RELEASE DEBUT SOLO ALBUM ON JULY 10

Alter Bridge/Creed axesmith/songwriter, Mark Tremonti, is gearing up for his first-ever solo project this summer.  All I Was is scheduled for release on July 10th via Fret 12 Records, a company Mark started with Daniel Tremonti and Tom Stanley. Mark’s solo effort, being released under the name Tremonti, showcases his acclaimed guitar playing and incomparable songwriting. The release also marks his debut on lead vocals.  Tremonti features Eric Friedman on rhythm guitar and Garrett Whitlock on drums. Mark’s Alter Bridge/Creed bandmate, Brian Marshall, will be stepping in for the bass duties when Tremonti takes to the road later this year. Long time friend and collaborator Michael “Elvis” Baskette, known for his work with Alter Bridge, Chevelle and Trivium, produced the album.
From the first riffs of album opener “Leave It Alone” to the final notes of the closer “Decay,” it is apparent that Mark’s playing and songwriting are at a new level.  The metal music influences he grew up on ring throughout the album on songs like “So You’re Afraid,” “Wish You Well” and “Giving Up.”  Mark finds his voice; literally, stepping up to the microphone for the first time in his career as a lead vocalist. The depth of his voice carries the melodies on songs like “New Way Out” and “Proof.” The first single, “You Waste Your Time,” will be unleashed at Active Rock radio over the next few weeks and will continue the success at the format that Mark has achieved with both of his other projects.

Mark Tremonti is the Grammy Award-winning guitarist and songwriter known for his work in multi-platinum rock juggernaut Creed and with the critically acclaimed, fan favorite Alter Bridge. Having sold over 40 million records worldwide, this is the man behind massive hits like "My Own Prison", “Higher", and "Isolation"—just to name a few.  His sound is recognizable and has garnered him a loyal fan base worldwide. Guitar World dubbed him "Guitarist of the Year" three consecutive years in a row, and he ranked as the "fourth greatest heavy metal guitarist ever" in Total Guitar.

The track listing for All I Was is:

             1. Leave It Alone
2. So You’re Afraid
3. Wish You Well
4. Brains
5. The Things I’ve Seen
6. You Waste Your Time
7.  New Way Out
8.  Giving Up
9.  Proof
10. All I Was
11. Doesn’t Matter
12. Decay

A Few Important Notes In One

A lot going on so instead of writing multiple posts I'm writing one and put everything in it.

First, the server that Bullspike Radio uses for broadcasting has changed some of its regulations which means there are some technical aspects that need attention.  As a result my show THE ASYLUM will not air this week (April 26th) so I can focus on the tech aspects.  I will return next week (May 3rd) at 10PM EST as usual.

Second, the first Rock Against Dystrophy event of the year is set for Saturday, May 19th at the Tattoo Shot Lounge in Coney Island, Brooklyn.  It will be hosted by Tim Martinez and I will be the DJ in between bands. Below is the shows flyer:

Please put this event on your calendar and tell your friends, it's a great night of rock & metal for a great cause.  And I'll catch you back inside THE ASYLUM on Bullspike Radio on May 3rd.

ZP Theart and his new band, I AM I, have released the first track from their forthcoming debut album 'Event Horizon'

The track is called 'This Is My Life' and is available to listen to in full right now on the band's official website by clicking here.
The band will be fully unveiled on Sunday May 27th at Birmingham's O2 Academy 2 when I AM I make their live debut. The line-up is Paul Clark Jr who was Manowar's deputy drummer for their 2011 European tour, Jacob Ziemba on guitar and Neil Salmon on bass.

The debut promo video for the song 'Silent Genocide' will be released in late April.

'Event Horizon' will be the first ever Heavy Metal album to be released solely on USB. As the major record labels are almost certainly going to cease production of compact discs by the end of 2012, I AM I are one step ahead of the game by releasing this groundbreaking album in a groundbreaking format.

The USB stick will be packaged in a CD case and will include full artwork - which is stunning - and all the usual content you would expect on a disc and more. The album will be available to pre-order very soon from the Official I AM I website
by clicking here.

Tickets for the 27th May debut show at Birmingham's O2 are limited to 600 and are also available from the Official I AM I site
by clicking here.

600 special commemorative t-shirts will be produced for the gig and are an exclusive free gift for fans who buy tickets. The shirts will be numbered and will correspond with the ticket number and are sure to become collector's items.

KILLCODE Is The Second Inductee to the Bullspike Hall Of Fame

Very glad to announce that the first band to be inducted into the Bullspike Hall Of Fame is KILLCODE.
They guys of KILLCODE have been representing the New York rock and metal scene in a major way since debuting in 2009.  Their first EP "To Die For" was so solid that everyone thought they had been playing together for years as opposed to just getting started.  They have supported major label acts like Fuel, Powerman 5000, and Filter in addition to headlining New York's Bowery Ballroom, The Gramercy Theater, and The Mercury Lounge and selling out every time they play.
KILLCODE is going stronger then every with their recently released self-titled full length album.  They manage to combine hard edge New York style with a little southern rock in a way that no other band can.  It should only be a matter of time before they are headlining their own world tour.  So for these reasons KILLCODE is being inducted to the Bullspike Hall Of Fame Class of 2012.

Turbo Gets A Little Kink-E

In my continuing effort to be a voice for the rock and metal community I know can add writing into by arsenal.  I've been promising you all I'd do more writing about the music we all love and an opportunity has arrived to push me to write more often.

My friend Marabelle Blue is expanding her magazine, Kink-E Magazine, which means new staff and sections are being added.  And her Music Korner needed an editor and that editor will be yours truly.  I am truly excited to be part of the expansion of her magazine and sharing more about the world of rock and metal with a bigger audience.

This rocker is rollin' so get on board or get rolled over.
