The World Needs To Grow A Pair
As the co-owner of an Internet radio station and being an Internet radio DJ I consider myself part of the media and as a member of the media I have the following thought. (Note this is my opinion and not the opinion of Bullspike Radio or any station I'm affiliated with.)
The fact that 2 Australian DJs lost their jobs and are now wondering if they're going to get hit with murder charges over a radio phone prank sickens me. These DJs did what stations like Z100 and radio personalities like Howard Stern have done for years. They did not force nor tell the nurse to commit suicide. The nurse could have resigned, asked for a leave of absence, or filed a lawsuit. Suicide is never an answer and the fact that the world is condemning two individuals who until recently got paid to prank people on the radio is a sad state if affairs for us as a global society. The Royal Family even joked about it after the prank call and if they are all ok with it then everyone including the nurse who chose poorly to commit suicide should've been ok with it.
Unless every prank personality for the last 50 years from both TV and radio are going to be condemned for their actions then we should not condemn these two Australian DJs.
We as a world are becoming too sensitive. Lets all collectively grow a pair.
Rant over.

A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH to Release Sophomore Album in Late Spring 2013
A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH, have confirmed a late spring 2013 release for the follow up to their critically acclaimed debut And Hell Will Follow Me via SPV Records. The band has once again commissioned famed artist Sam Shearon AKA Mister-Sam (Rob Zombie, Fear Factory, Rammstein) to create the artwork for the as yet untitled album.
Frontman Sal Abruscato gave an update on the album:
"The sound has evolved and become a bit more orchestrated. More harmony work has been done on this album, including new elements such as a Hammond B3 organ and piano. To me the album has an even darker sound and feel than the first one." He continued, "The new album is a natural progression in song writing and vocals yet keeping continuity with the first album musically and artistically. Fans of our first album will find all the traits they love melded with even bigger production and mastering. Ted Jensen of Sterling Sound will be mastering the album."
More information will be released in the coming weeks.

GIANT X to Release Debut Album January 22nd via Steamhammer/SPV in North America
The big secret that fans had been speculating about in a number of Internet forums was released last week: GIANT X is the spectacular new band founded by Running Wild`s Rolf Kasparek and Peter J. Jordan.
GIANT X's debut album I will be out on Steamhammer/SPV as a super jewel case and download on January 18th in Germany, January 21st in Europe and January 22nd in USA/Canada and is set to delight particularly fans of traditional hard rock.
The first snippet from the song "On a Blind Flight" can be heard HERE.
THE VERY END New Album Turn off the World Streaming on AOL MUSIC
German Ruhr area metal act THE VERY END will be releasing their sophomore album Turn off the Worldtomorrow via Steamhammer/SPV. In conjunction with the release, THE VERY END is streaming the album in its entirety on AOL Music as a part of their Full Album Listening Party Series. Listen to the album HERE. Turn off the World can be ordered on Amazon.
The band has made the song "Iron Sky", available for streaming via SoundCloud. In exchange for joining the band's mailing list, the song can also be downloaded as a free MP3. Check it out HERE.
THE VERY END vocalist Bjoern Goosses on "Iron Sky": "Every oneof us has experienced some kind of limits, boundaries, fences and wires. Imagine a rusty shell above your head instead of a blue sky. We´re in this together now, all in the same boat, it´s sinking, but that´s no reason to give up. We came in peace, but were born to die.Born under an iron sky."
A previously released lyric video for "The Black Fix" can be seen at www.theveryend.net/turnofftheworld. The lyric video was created by Carsten Loer for Cyphers X.
Entombed's LG Petrov contributed as guest vocalist on the death metal-oriented The Black Fix. Commented Bjoern Goosses: "Naturally, being fans of old-school death metal, LG is one of our old-time heroes whom we are proud to present on our new album."
Like its predecessor, Mercy & Misery, Turn off the World has been produced by Waldemar Sorychta and mastered by Dennis Koehne (Sodom, Exumer).
The album artwork has again been created by Killustrations (Dew-Scented, Nervecell, Hackneyed).
"Precisely executed thrash, straight in your face! If you like Testament you must check out THE VERY END's Turn off the World. Rocks!"
Angela Gossow - ARCH ENEMY
"THE VERY END will bring you a fresh vision of Death Thrash the way it´s meant to be this day and age."
Maurizio Iacono - KATAKLYSM / EX DEO"THE VERY END will bring you a fresh vision of Death Thrash the way it´s meant to be this day and age."

Legendary Guitarist ULI JON ROTH to Embark On 40th Anniversary North American Tour
German guitar legend ULI JON ROTH will be returning to North America for a special tour commemorating his 40th anniversary of joining THE SCORPIONS.
ULI plans on celebrating this anniversary with a one of a kind show that features an entire set of SCORPIONS
material as well as selections from his extensive solo catalog. Every
show on the tour will be recorded for a live album documenting this
amazing milestone in ULI's career.
The tour is currently scheduled to kick off January 25th in Los Angeles, CA and runs through March 3rd in Los Angeles. More dates will be added in the coming days. Stay tuned to http://www.ulijonroth.com for the most up to date schedule.
ULI is looking forward to presenting this historical show to his North American fans:
"Celebrating my 40th anniversary of joining the band, we will play a full set of SCORPIONS
songs alongside my more recent material. We will feature several songs
from each of the albums that I played on, including some, which have not
been played live before. I'm really looking forward to it. Hope to see
you there!"
Because of his ground-breaking, highly innovative and distinctive trademark guitar work, ULI is widely regarded as being one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
As one of the main founding members of THE SCORPIONS, ULI wrote
much of the material for the bands - by now legendary - first five
albums, which include the hugely successful live album "Tokyo Tapes".
These early SCORPIONS years with ULI, Klaus and Rudolf as the nucleus, were absolutely essential in shaping what is now considered the classic SCORPIONS sound.
ULI is regarded as a significant influence by many notable guitar players, including, but not limited to Slash, Eddie Van Halen Joe Satriani, Kirk Hammett, Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen. Having collaborated and shared the stage with the likes of The Smashing Pumpkins, Deep Purple, Brian May, Jack Bruce, UFO, and many others, ULI continues to inspire and pave the way for musicians and fans alike.
After his departure from THE SCORPIONS, ULI JON ROTH embarked on a successful career as a solo artist, producing highly influential albums with his band Electric Sun, as well as performing classical concertos with orchestras.

ULI
also invented his own instrument the legendary 6-octave Sky Guitar,
which is currently on the market as a limited Edition signature model.
In addition to his 40th Anniversary shows, ULI
will also be offering his world renowned Sky Academy Seminars while he
is on the road in North America. These introductory seminars are not
just aimed at guitarists, but fans and even non-musicians may well find
plenty to gain from Uli's unique way of talking about some of the deeper
mysteries of music. For some people Sky Academy has even been a
life-changing experience, because ULI's teaching can open up completely new ways of experiencing music.
The
aim of Sky Academy is to provide knowledge and inspiration to those who
take guitar playing seriously and to help them reach a new plateau. The
seminars are designed to open musicians' eyes to new possibilities and
to trigger an awakening of the student's full potential and talent.
Special emphasis is given to inspirational concepts rather than just
technical means. Sky Academy is designed to teach particularly those
things which are not normally touched upon in music teaching, but which
provide a true gateway to mastery.
Tickets for the introductory seminars are available through the individual venues and can also be purchased at http://www.sky-academy-registration.com/.
